From New Zealand, Hutch Wilco has a BA in Visual Art, Art History, and Theory from the Auckland University of Technology.
From 1998, he worked for the National Museum of New Zealand, and since 2013, was Senior Project Manager, Exhibitions, managing all exhibition development.
He has worked on official New Zealand participation at the 2009, 2011, and 2013 Venice Biennale, and as the Exhibition Manager for four collateral exhibitions at the 2015 Venice Biennale.
Since 2016, he has been living in Shanghai, and practices as an independent curator, editor, writer, and art critic for Art Asia Pacific Magazine.
