Barangaroo Headland Park

Artist: Johnson Pilton Walker with PWP Landscape Architecture

Location: Barangaroo Point, Sydney, Australia

Research approach that takes account of the geographic and historic context of pre-colonial Australia. This ties into broader conversations about the precolonial, colonial and post-colonial interface manifested through both ecology and environment as well as research methodologies for the built-environment. the work includes massive planting programs that seeks to replicate pre-European vegetation. This 'work' strives for an almost authorless approach, and as such manifests the highly contentious histories of land and geography which is so much a part of current Australian cultural debates.
